There are many tuition options around Palavakkam and ECR, and it can be hard to know which one will really help your child. Here are the questions worth asking before you decide.
1. How big are the batches?
Smaller batches mean your child can ask questions and the teacher can check their work. Ask how many students sit in one batch for your child's class.
2. Do they teach your child's board?
CBSE, State Board, Matriculation and ICSE syllabi differ. Make sure the centre teaches your board and uses the right textbooks.
3. How is progress measured?
Look for regular tests and a clear way of sharing results with parents, not just the final exam marks.
4. Do the timings work for your family?
Check that batch timings fit school hours and travel. If both parents work, ask whether after-school homework support is available.
5. Is the centre close and safe?
A centre near home, such as one in Palavakkam for families in Kottivakkam or Neelankarai, saves travel time. Visit to see the classrooms for yourself.
6. Can your child try a demo class?
A free demo class is the best test. Watch how your child feels afterwards: did they understand, and did they feel comfortable asking questions?
